A Change of Utensils in Highland Park Schools
Last June, representatives from Plastic Free Town spoke to the superintendent and food services manager of Highland Park Public Schools about making a change in our schools’ cafeterias. We suggested making the switch from plastic utensils to 100% corn-based biodegradable utensils. We discussed why they are important and how they help the school. In September all school cafeterias in Highland Park put out these eco friendly utensils! This has been significant in making Highland Park one of the first eco-friendly school districts in New Jersey!
